For the fourth year in succession we were able to take a small group of beneficiaries, mostly with their wives or partners, on a weekend to Gatcombe in Gloucestershire.
Many of the group were new to the NFA and everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable time, despite the atrocious weather. Several of the wives and partners commented that it was the first time a charity had invited them to an event alongside their husband/partner and that they enjoyed the opportunity of getting to know others with similar problems and experiences.
With a real mix of veterans from the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Marines, and campaigns from Afghanistan to the Falklands, there was plenty of lively banter and chat.
Our group were given a prime location to watch the events and were both surprised and thrilled when our Patron HRH The Princess Royal suddenly appeared to say hello to them.
